Count down to Gambia : 15 hours 17 minutes.

I have to admit that this is by far the craziest thing I HAVE EVER DONE. And for those of you who know me, I have done some pretty weird stuff, but this takes the cake. Going to Africa for seven weeks with people that I’ve met twice, and having never been off the contenent is leaving me a little nervous.

I have a good team, have my things packed, vaccinations done, passport ready, but with all that I still feel like a kid without my mom. I really have no clue what I am getting in to, and have resigned myself to the fact that I could never really be prepared for what I will experience in the next seven weeks. My only comfort is that God is always with me. He planned my life out in fine detail, and the same is true for this trip. He is guiding my steps, and is my protection.

I have a blog on the Christian Volunteer Movement Canada Website (that’s who I am going to The Gambia with). It’s :
www.cvmcanada.com/gambiaprojectlive/index.php My Jana_Heyer@hotmail.com and JanaHeyer@Gmail.com addresses will hopefully be working too.

I would love it if you guys could all pray for me while I am gone, I am going to need it.

See you in June!

I finally gave in.

What can I say, peer pressure got the best of me; I am now a full-fledged member of the blogging world. I was opposed at first, but this seems like fun. Give me a little to get the swing of things.

This may be my last post in a while, because I am leaving for The Gambia in three short days (crazy hey?). So enjoy it while it lasts!

Blogging fells allot like giving a speech…. Let’s go with that:“Thanks for this Grammy for Best Cow Bell Player of the Year! I want to thank my family, my producer; Bruce Dickinson a.k.a. Terrin, my roadies and the whole team who put me here! And my heavenly Father”

How was that? Typical enough?

Anyway you’ll hear from me when I find something to rant about, which should be too long : )
